Communication. We believe that basic communication must be practical, timely and courteous. Practical communication is necessary; Concise, accurate and well-articulated communication builds understanding. This is fundamental to engendering confidence and achieving transaction success. Timely communication is vital. The speed in which a transaction is conducted is dependent on the quality of the message and the perseverance of the principals involved. In other words, quickly delivering quality information is mission critical. Courteous communication shows respect and consideration for the feelings of others. We strive to answer every e-mail the day it arrives. We return phone calls promptly. We exhibit good manners in all written and oral communication. Relationships. In the rush to do business, people sometimes forget the real power of relationships. We never consider time spent with an associate as time wasted. We believe that getting to know another person, even if it is strictly at a business level, is the highest calling. Building and cherishing relationships is a fundamental responsibility of every associate at Sokoloff & Co. Integrity. We take honesty and integrity very seriously. We work closely with our clients and insist on full, honest disclosure. We do not misrepresent or quibble about the facts. We apologize immediately when we have made a mistake. We strive to be fair and equitable in all of our dealings. A solution that requires legal remedy is often a refusal to confront doing the right thing. Integrity is our firm’s stock-in-trade. With it, we succeed. Without it, our clients and associates lose confidence in us and we fail. We welcome those of like minds. At the end of every company newsletter there is a simple Mark Twain quote, “Always do right.
